Mike is a national security expert and strategy consultant with an extensive background in defense policy, military intelligence, and support to US counter-terrorism operations. In addition to co-founding Diligent Innovations, his broad national security credentials include serving as the Director of Strategy for the White House Homeland Security Council, an Intelligence Officer for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Senior Analyst for War on Terrorism Branch of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where he helped develop the 2007 National Strategy for Homeland Security, the National Military Strategic Plan for the War on Terrorism, and the National Strategy for Global Supply Chain Security.

In the private sector, he has founded two successful risk management and strategy consulting firms servicing the needs of clients as diverse as Deutsche Bank, Lockheed Martin, Mitsubishi Chemicals, and the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Justice.  He has managed projects and conducted briefings for senior military leaders, executives of major international financial institutions, and federal and state legislators.
