Fred Gardy is an adjunct instructor with the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security and the Incident Management Training Program for the Emergency Services Training Institute / Texas Engineering Extension Service; part of Texas A&M University System. He co-authored and instructs the Sport and Special Event Training and Exercise and Sports and Special Events Incident Management courses offered by NCS4 and TEEX.
Fred also works as an adjunct instructor with the Nebraska State Law Enforcement Training Center (NLETC). He is the primary instructor for the leadership portion of the Management Training course and an instructor in the Supervision School.
From 2003-2012 Fred was an Assistant Police Chief with the University of Nebraska Lincoln, a research-extensive institution with 30,000 students and staff, an 85,000 seat football stadium and a 13,500 seat basketball arena. His responsibilities included emergency management, business continuity planning, large venue protection, large event planning, research security, and physical security.
Prior to his position with Nebraska, Fred was the Police Chief of the Bellows Falls, Vermont Police Department, a Police Lieutenant with the New Rochelle, New York Police Department, and a Security Manager with the Fort James Corporation
